Non-Toxic Means:

THE NITTY GRITTY

MANY BRANDS CLAIM TO BE ONE OF THE THREE, WE'LL BREAK IT DOWN FOR YOU ALWAYS. WE WANT YOU TO BE HEALTHY + INFORMED. STAY WOKE.

Non-Toxic

Here at SHADE we're non-toxic. This means our products don't contain ingredients that have been linked to toxic responses (like cancer, hormone disruption, reproductive disorders, etc.) in humans. We only include Certified Organic ingredients from local sources whenever possible.

Be confident that ingredients like phthalates, parabens, lead acetate, formaldehyde, petroleum and coal tar are not included in the formulas of our products. We are cruelty-free and 95% plant-based always. The only ingredient that comes from an animal is the 100% local raw honey used in our scrubs and soaps. The Squalene we use is also 100% plant-based.

As we grow, our goal is to formulate and encourage products that are 100% “synthetic-free,” which means the products contains zero man-made ingredients.

Organic

CERTIFIED ORGANIC is the only term highly-regulated by the USDA, one of the only claims you can be 100% sure about when it comes to skincare and beauty products. BE WARE: A label can claim "organic,"yet if it also doesn’t have this symbol, the label is FALSE.

If a product is “100% organic,” everything in that product was specially grown with atleast 95% natural ingredients with no chemical interference; no pesticides, no fertilizers, no herbicides, no antibiotics, no growth hormones, no GMOs. This regulation varies state-to-state.

Natural

Proceed with caution when considering a product that claims to be “natural” or “all-natural.”

Yes, some “natural” formulas actually contain all plant-based natural ingredients that just aren’t organic. But there are also lots of products that shout "natural" at you yet, contain highly processed, potentially harmful plant-derived ingredients. Example, coconut oil can be "all-natural" yet the coconut used could be dried, dyed and chemically treated so their benefit to you is null and void.
